Signs of Life

The seeds I planted a week ago are coming up already.

broccoli

spinach

beets

and the peas are just barely popping up

If I can keep the dogs, cats, birds, squirrels and bugs away, I just might get some edibles this season!

  1. Good luck with the varmints!
Strange to see when everything is shutting down here for Winter. It seems a long time until Spring growth for us.

    1. I know, so strange. You would have a hard time of it even with a greenhouse/hothouse.
Thus the grand inventions of so many wonderful preserves!

  2. Fall planting? Where do you garden?

    1. In the topsy-turvy world of the Arizona desert. The summer is too hot for a green-leafed plant to survive (although some of my fellow Phoenix bloggers had success with their summer vegetables this year) so we rely on the mild winters to coax food from the ground. Might as well live in the Southern Hemisphere!
